Speak, Lord,
for Your Servant is Listening.
A heart God is looking for: a devoted heart.
Are you listening for God all through the day?
Does His input make it to your calculations for what matters in your daily routine and in the big decisions for your life?
Are you what God is looking for in a disciple, in a child, in a warrior?
Or do you accept your flaws and trust that God forgives you for them?
As a growing (hopefully) follower of Christ, we must strive for more.
We must BE that disciple that follows hard after God, giving up what needs to go, striving after what He wants for us.
1 Samuel gives us many pictures of both sides of this coin. We will see the failure to rise to the level of devotion our God requires. We will see the other side of the coin, finding a man after God’s own heart.
Along the way, we will see many others who fall in between these two extremes.
Do not comfort yourself with living in between these two. There is one life the Lord finds worthy and that life ifs the devoted life.
This life is found only in the disciples who LISTEN to Him.
