Your King is Coming!
Oh! How Our King longs for His People!
Don’t trust what your earthly eyes tell you. Throughout this study of 2 Kings, including some of 1 & 2 Chronicles, we will be training our spiritual eyes to see what is really there. We are many times detoured because we are lead by our physical eyes. We must learn to be led by our spiritual eyes.
This is all-consuming training, like you would do for military engagement or Olympic feats of physical endurance, except that you are performing these tasks for the eternal kingdom and for the glory of the Lord.
Begin this journey by examining WHY DO I WANT TO STUDY 2 KINGS?
Ask the Lord to enlighten the eyes of your heart so that you can “see why you are embarking on this time of training”. A Marine does not lightly take on boot camp because he/she knows that the demands will be high.
You MUST know why you do what you do.
You MUST be honest with yourself.
You WILL be transformed as you yield to the Master’s call on your life and your time – because when you see things through enlightened eyes you realize that “your life” and “your time” are deceptions anyway.
The time and the life you have are not yours, you have been bought with a price.
You now belong to King Jesus.
